Fundraising to move MVEF in own land!

Hi all! Ben here, Govinda’s friend from Australia. Govinda asked me to fill you in on the last six months. MVEF has been going from strength to strength. We’ve had a number of excellent volunteers stay with us, all of whom have contributed to the life of the farm in many unique ways. Govinda always says it’ an honor to be able to share hospitality with visitors, and he and his family are grateful for every guest who contributes to MVEF.

At the moment we are hosting a MVDF fundraiser on IndieGoGo. After the earthquake, people were quick to support Govinda. With that money, he bought a piece of land as well as repairing their current (rented) house to be livable. Now it is time to move MVEF to the new land. He needs to build appropriate and safe accommodation for his family, for volunteers, and for visiting farmers and school groups who will come to MVEF to learn about organic, sustainable agriculture.

So far we’ve raised $1000, and hope to be able to raise $18,000, or as close to it as possible, in the next few months. Tumaini, which is a Spanish volunteering organization which partners with MVEF, is going to host a fundraiser in Madrid for us, which is really exciting! Tumaini has also pledged to help spread the word about our campaign. We’re super grateful for their contribution to our fundraiser, and for their partnership with MVEF. Because we know Govinda so well, we can be sure that our donations will be used wisely and really make a difference.
